During our recent trip to North Wales, we spent a memorable day exploring the historic town of Conwy. A highlight of our visit was a walk around the iconic Conwy Castle. A remarkable fortress steeped in history. Built between 1283 and 1287 by Edward I during his conquest of Wales. The castle was a formidable stronghold and played a pivotal role in several conflicts over the centuries.

By 1665, however, the castle had reached the end of its functional life, falling into a state of disuse. Despite this, its striking medieval architecture and storied past have ensured its place in history. Today, Conwy Castle is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as one of Wales’ most popular tourist attractions. We were captivated by the grandeur of its stone walls, the sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, and the rich sense of history that still lingers in every corner.
