The Schwebebahn Suspension Railway In Wuppertal

Ever since I first saw pictures of the Schwebebahn, I had been eager to experience it for myself. In October, while staying in Düsseldorf—just a short train ride from Wuppertal—I finally had the chance to make that dream a reality.

We boarded the iconic suspended monorail at Vohwinkel and rode it all the way to Oberbarmen. The journey was both thrilling and unique, offering a fascinating perspective as the train glided smoothly above the streets and the Wupper River. The combination of historic charm and modern ingenuity made the experience unforgettable. It was not just a fun ride but also a remarkable way to appreciate this engineering marvel.
