A quiet Sunday on the River Mersey. The Fred Olsen cruise ship MS Borealis was tied up at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal.
For 14 nights an outdoor illuminated gallery of stunning light installations were on display in the city of Liverpool. The 11 artworks were created by leading local, national and international artists. The River of Light art pieces were in locations across Liverpool’s waterfront. They were lit up from 6PM – 10.30PM every night.
We decided to explore an area of Liverpool that we haven’t visited much – Toxteth L8. The area has seen a lot of regeneration in recent years after decades of decline.
It had been a long day so it was good to get out of the house for a walk around the local golf course, still closed at the moment due to lockdown restrictions. Not the greatest sunset but still a good time to be walking.
We decided to head out form the Pier Head south along the River Mersey for a change. An overcast day but thankfully no rain but this did mean there were a lot more people out which made social distancing a little more difficult.
