We were just walking around on our first day in New York and were watching the sky as the rain clouds started to form. As it started to look more like the rain, we headed back towards our hotel. Unfortunately we didn’t make it back in time and our small umbrella was no match for the torrents that fell from the sky.
This image was taken as the first few drops fell and it looked like it was going to be a summer shower. Five minutes later the cameras were tucked away to protect them as well as possible and we were hurrying to find shelter.
I was finally able to visit the 9/11 Memorial in New York and had a chance to look around at the new construction on the site. One World Trade Center is an amazing looking building.
We had a great morning at Eastern Market in Washington DC a couple of weeks ago. We ended it by buying a bag of donuts or should that be doughnuts, as we headed for home.
There is a lot of street art in Washington DC. Two variations on the theme can be found within a block of each other on 11th street, NW.
A little quiet time with a large coffee before heading into work. There are many advantages to doing the early shift and during the summer this is one of them.
